Students donate to Reverse Advent Calendar

This December our students got involved with the reverse advent calendar once more. The reverse advent calendar is where students were challenged to bring in and give an item of food or toiletries during the month of December, instead of just receiving gifts through advent.

Chelmsford Foodbank help people who may be going hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill and Christmas can be a particularly hard time of year for some families.

This year a huge 1125 items were donated to Chelmsford food bank, smashing our amount last year! 9R went above and beyond and donated 350 and Sophie McCall in year 8 donated 248 items just on her own.

Miss Dawson said, "We are so proud and grateful of the generosity of our students and families and want to say such a big thank you - you really have made a difference to people struggling this season.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from everyone at Chelmer Valley.
