IGD Inspire the Sixth Form with Interview Technique Workshops

On the 20th September 2017, 21 students from the sixth form across year 12 and 13s were chosen to take part in a workshop conducted by 4 speakers from IGD (Feeding Britain's Future). The speaker introduced themselves explaining that IGD are a research and training charity that help the food and grocery supply chain better serve the public. Managers from various companies attended this workshop including Paula Jones, a Bid Manager for Brakes, Johnathan McKechnie, a key accounts manager from A-One Food Supplements and David Kemp, and Insight Manager from Iri.

The students spoke to the company workers and discovered more about the food and grocery industry as well as key interview techniques, considering posture, body language, covering letters and CV’s. All of these are vital skills that every student will need in the future.

Year 12 student, Kathan Walker said: “The workshop was helpful. It was good to speak to professionals and gain personal experience on industry.”

Sam Bates, Year 13 said: “It was good to meet professionals and learn the tricks of the trade.”
