PTA

Chelmer Valley High School currently has a strong and supportive Parent Teacher Association. The committed team of parents work hard on your behalf to arrange fund-raising activities for everyone within the school community.

 Regular discos are held for our younger students and these are always extremely popular occasions. Other events include Quiz nights, Barn Dance, Winter Ball and a Firework Extravaganza.  All events are thoroughly enjoyed by those attending.

During the last two years we have donated over £9,000 to the school. This, we know, is put to excellent use and helps to provide those necessary “extras” for the students.  All departments can benefit from our fund raising enabling Staff to buy equipment which may not have been made available through ordinary capitation funding.  Such equipment includes Football and Netball uniforms, goal post, Mathematics equipment and monitoring equipment for the Health and Social Care Department.  The largest donation of £7,000 helped to fund the refurbishment and equipping of a state of the art post-16 engineering suite designed to allow a dedicated teaching and learning area for Maths, Science and Technology subjects.  This was officially opened on Monday 28th September 2009.
