Students follow the Edexcel scheme of work and produce 2 units of work. The first is ‘The Human Form’ and the second is ‘Interior/Exterior’. Each student has the opportunity to paint, draw, use 3D materials and digital media. They explore the work of other artists and visit a London gallery to further their artistic experiences.
There is a mock exam in Year 10 and a 10 hour exam in Year 11, which forms 40% of the overall grade.
Materials
Students are provided with a sketchbook. They must provide a set of B grade pencils, (from 2B upwards), paints, pastels, rubbers, sharpeners and they have the option of buying an A1 folder from school or can provide their own. The sketchbooks are assessed as part of the coursework and MUST be looked after; they go towards the 60% coursework mark.
