Engineering: our active support towards the engineering status of Chelmer Valley High School has been recognised. The Head of Area led a workshop on this at The Engineering Conference in January 2007.

Citizenship: we are actively involved in charity work and fundraising. For example, we have been involved in Operation Christmas Child for a number of years. We have also raised money for a number of projects. We are aiming to raise £1000 for a play area for an orphanage in Kenya – following the Matron’s visit to Essex and her talks to Year 7 students, we are following the lead of our Year 7 students, some of whom raised over £100 even before we had decided what our response was going to be!

Following the annual Year 7 Engineering day, we raise money throughout the year for Water Aid – through a range of activities such as cake sales and sponsored student hair cuts.

We have an annual Holocaust Day for Year 9 in March, and are privileged to welcome a Holocaust survivor to our school.

Look at what we have been doing.

  •   Humanities / Engineering Day - July 07
  •   Operation Christmas Child - December 07
  •   Humanities / Art Project - June 06
  •   Humanities Talented
  •   Big Brother Experience 07
  •   Free for All
  •   Students from all years took part in ‘Free for All’ at Chelmsford cathedral, a nation wide arts celebration of the bicentenary celebration of the abolition of slavery.
