At GCSE level student follow the OCR A syllabus and study the following topics

- Settlement
- The Environment

- Mapskills
- Fieldtrips
There is a 3 day residential fieldtrip to Bradwell on Sea. This is then written up as coursework. Coursework is worth 25% of the marks!
Skills that students will aquire include transferable skills such as:
- decision making skills,
- the ability to describe and explain the world around us
- ability to give reasons for opinions.
- map reading, photograph and graph interpretation
Coursework clinics & after school revision
The department supports GCSE students by offering afterschool coursework clinics and revision sessions once a week. Students find this a valuable opportunity to seek advice and meet deadlines.
