Students participating in 'You've got Talent'
Gifted and talented linguists in Year 9 are invited to attend a short series of master classes in French and German, hosted by our foreign language assistants. The focus here is on extending their knowledge of the target language whilst gaining an up to date insight into the country and its people. The series of classes are held weekly over a period of three weeks and parents are informed by letter of their child’s invitation to attend.
Gifted and talented linguists in Key Stage 4 currently have the opportunity to attend weekly lessons in Mandarin Chinese. This year students are studying towards their first public examination and will therefore be developing their understanding of grammar and Chinese characters in addition to the conversation skills covered during their first year.
Selected students are invited to participate in the after school “You’ve got talent” event where they enjoy using their language knowledge and skills through the media of dance and drama.
