'You've Got Talent'
'You've Got Talent'
At present when students arrive at Chelmer Valley High School they all study French for five lessons over a two week timetable. At the end of their first year the most able linguists are placed into dual language classes studying French and German for three lessons each over a two week cycle. The demands on these students are quite high and students will have shown their aptitude through their commitment to do well, their ability to perform well in tests and their good level of organisation. Some students continue to benefit from learning French for six lessons over the two week cycle which places them in a good position to achieve a good grade in the G.C.S.E. course in Key Stage 4. A number of students start Spanish for six lessons and are equally well-placed by the end of Year 9 to take the G.C.S.E. course in Key Stage 4.
G & T Selected students are invited to participate in the after school “You’ve got talent” event where they enjoy using their language knowledge and skills through the media of dance and drama.
(The current system in Year 7 is under review this year and may differ for our new intake in 2008).
