Master Class November 2010
The Talented programme was set up at Chelmer Valley in September 2006. Its aim was to offer the top 5% of students in each year the opportunity to be pushed further and developed more as athletes. Throughout the year the students involved have had the opportunity to attend specialist master class sessions and take advantage of an excellent mentoring programme.
There are two main aims of the programme:
• To further their already high sporting skill level in a variety of sports, and
• To help the students manage any conflicts that may arise between their sport and school work commitments.
The criteria to be awarded a place and remain on the programme are extremely high and it is seen as an excellent accolade to receive.
Regular master class sessions are run whereby students will get advanced fitness and skill coaching. An alternative PE shirt is also available so these students can be easily recognisable around the during lessons.
