The YEB club at CVHS has been enjoying particular success since we gained engineering status. students enter the competition every year with a wide variety of projects. In 2006 2 year 8 pupils won through from the regional finals to take part in the National final in Greenwich, London. They were awarded the runners up prize and also received approx £1500 each in prize money. 2007 was an exciting year also as Liam Woolley, year 13, also won through to the Nationals from the regional heats. Learning Grid - Formula Schools…

'Formula Schools' is a challenge involving students designing and building petrol radio control cars with the aid of local engineers. Once all of the building, testing and modifying is complete the students take their race machines to Silverstone for the finals! Competing against schools from across the U.K
Jaguar Formula 1 Challenge…
CO² powered jet racing is the challenge faced by members of our Jaguar F1 race team. Cars are modelled using the latest Computer Software and manufactured on our computer controlled router. The test then comes when the team load up and travel to the Ford motor plant at Dunton. Here they race other teams from around the UK with the F1 cars travelling of speeds up to 70mph!
Audi Innovations…
Audi are a well respected and highly prestigious company keen on developing innovative ideas through to manufacture. The innovations competition invites pupils of all key stages to enter designs. We have been National finalists at this competition 4 years in a row.
