Ford
Ford host a number of events aimed at secondary schools. GETSET & BETSET are specifically designed to encourage girls and boys respectively to engage with a career in engineering. Many team building tasks and competitive challenges fill the day with fun and information for all pupils who take part.
Britvic
Britvic is a multinational company on our doorstep. They are extremely supportive of CVHS and regularly host trips to their bottling plants at Widford and Beckton. A group of pupils were recently invited to accompany Britvic engineers to Silverstone to watch and take part in many racing orientated tasks and challenges, including changing a wheel on a Ferrari F1 car!
Global Marine Systems

GMS are market leaders in optic fibre communication technologies. They have been supporting students through the YEB competition this year and are a valuable asset to CVHS.
Costain
Construction engineering includes a wide and varied list of career paths, including Civil engineers and structural engineers. Costains are a leading construction company who are fully involved with the development of pupils here at CVHS. They have organised visits including the new Wembley stadium, during construction and conferences with there engineering team for our pupils.
Queen Mary’s University

Queen Mary’s is a thriving engineering university that regularly hosts events especially for CVHS and our feeder primary schools. Pupils from all Key Stages have had the opportunity to discover the equipment and testing facilities at the university.
Cambridge University

Little introduction is needed for this historical establishment, other than that CVHS is the only secondary school to have direct links with the universities manufacturing department and engineers. Staff from the university regularly invites pupils to visit and take part in many fun activities (including punting on the river Cam!)
Anglia Ruskin University

Our local university is a dynamic and valued link of the school. Many of our pupils have gone on to study engineering based courses here with great success. Also a host for the Chelmsford Engineering Societies annual competition.
