GCSE Course Content
Students will be taking their GCSE exam at the end of year 11, could we please ask for parents to help the students with their revision. Below are the topic areas that the exam covers.

What is studied at KS4?
The USA 1919-1941: The Boom. Those who do not share in the boom. The Roaring twenties. Women. Prejudice. Prohibition. The Wall Street Crash. The Depression. The 1932 election. The New Deal.
Post war conferences: Looking at the decisions the Allied leaders made after the 1st World War in relation to Germany and the other defeated powers and wether their decisions were any good or not.
The League of Nations: Conception, aims and membership. Structure. Disputes in the 1920s. Attempts at disarmament in the 1920s. The affect upon the league by the depression. Manchurian crisis. Attempts at disarmament in the 1930s. Abyssinia. Why the league failed.
Causes of World War Two - Looking at the long term reasons and the shorter term reasons for instance, Rhineland, Anchluss , Appeasement , Sudetenland and the Nazi-Soviet pact.
Liberal Government: The Liberal Government 1906-1918. Self Help vs. Welfare State. Should The State Intervene In Our Lives? How effective were the liberal reforms introduced? Reactions to the reforms. Did Women deserve the vote? How effective were the campaigns? What did Emily Davidson achieve? How were civilians affected by the war? How effective were propaganda and censorship in the war? What was women’s contribution to the war effort? Why were some women given the vote in 1918?
