Students Celebrate A level Successes

We are absolutely delighted with the results achieved by our sixth form students with an excellent number of students achieving passes in all their subjects. 93% of students achieved passes in the EPQ qualification with 45% of these at A*-B and the results of the new Finance and Core Maths qualifications were equally successful with 96% of results A*-C
 
There are some outstanding individual performances including Simon Derry who gained 5 A*and 1 A. Simon will be studying Physics at Somerville College, Oxford University. “ I am incredibly happy that I have gained a place, and am excited to pursue my study of Physics at such a prestigious institution. I couldn’t have done so well without the help, support and guidance of all my teachers.” Owen Thomas gained 2 A* and 2 A grades and will be studying Mathematics at the University of Nottingham, Aidan Knox will be studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Surrey after achieving 2 A*, 1 A* and 2 B grades. Maud Sterne achieved 1 A*, 1 A, 1 B and 1 C and will study Sociology at Newcastle University, Tara Dalby obtained 1 Distinction*, 1 A* 1 A grade & 2 B grades and is studying for a Physical Education degree with QTS
 
Headteacher Claire Goodchild said "We would like to congratulate all our students on their tremendous outcomes and on securing places at university, apprenticeships and work placements. I would like to thank all the staff for their dedication and hard work in preparing our students for the examinations."
