Welcome to Chelmer Valley High School

Based in Chelmsford, in Essex, Chelmer Valley High School can provide the best possible education for students aged between 11 and 18.

We place a great deal of emphasis on academic success at GCSE, A level and in the vocational area. High expectations also extend to social and moral issues as we seek to produce well rounded adults, whose mature behaviour reflects their self respect.

Recently, we were successful in our bid for a second specialism. As well as our ENGINEERING STATUS we are now a LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT PARTNER SCHOOL. The DCSF have acknowledged that leadership and management is outstanding at Chelmer Valley. We are one of only two schools in the whole of Essex to be given this accolade and not only will our staff continue to benefit from enhanced training opportunities because of the additional funding we will get, but we will also be playing a lead role in working with other local secondary and primary schools.

The annual league tables, produced by DCSF in January 2009, show that our students' GCSE results have placed us amongst the top performing schools in the County.

2008 Results: GCSE: 79% of our students gained 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE. 70% of our students achieved 5 A*-C including English and Maths. These are our best ever results and reflects all the hard work of our students and staff, together with the tremendous support of parents. A Level: Once again we are very pleased with our A level results which enabled all students to be accepted at a University of their choice.
