TEACHER OF HUMANITIES

REQUIRED SEPTEMBER 2024

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Humanities to teach classes across Key Stage 3.  They will also be required to teach their specialism at Key Stage 4.  Due to our expanding team, whether you are an ECT or an experience practitioner, you will be fully supported by a large, welcoming, and friendly Humanities Department.

 

You will have a natural flair for delivering creative and vibrant lessons which enthuse and motivate students to want to learn and achieve. You will have excellent communication skills and be enthusiastic about your professional development

HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Head of Geography to teach and lead classes across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.  Geography sits within the Humanities Area at Chelmer and includes; Geography, History, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics (RPE), and Sociology. Geography is a hugely popular subject at Chelmer Valley High School with many classes studying the subject at GCSE and A level. The Geography Department is progressive and dynamic, who facilitate lessons that enhance the learning experience of all students. The Geography Department also offer an optional educational visit to Iceland, providing students with opportunities to learn from the world around them. 

 

You will have a natural flair for delivering creative and vibrant lessons which enthuse and motivate students. You will have excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence and be enthusiastic about leading others within the Geography field. You will have a track record delivering against clear objectives and long and short term action planning at a curriculum level, including the ability to analyse data effectively.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed, and adaptable person to join our busy Pastoral team. The right candidate will provide support to students and parents in terms of behaviour, attitude, attendance and well-being to enable students to make good progress and engage in their learning.  

Previous experience of working with children (11-16) and experience of dealing with external agencies would be an advantage. The successful candidate will have excellent and efficient organisational skills, strong interpersonal skills combined with strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills (Microsoft Office & SIMS). They will also have a calm and tactful approach, ability to work to tight deadlines and be emotionally resilient.

Examination Invigilators required

£11.59 per hour plus holiday pay

We are looking to create a pool of invigilators to work during the examination periods.

The task of the invigilation team is to assist the Examinations Officer to ensure the smooth running of all examinations, so that the students can perform as well as they are able.

The successful candidates will be discreet, able to respect confidentiality and work within a team.  Punctuality, reliability and flexibility are essential.

We are looking for any-one who is able to offer their time throughout the year.
