As part of our commitment to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, we will be celebrating World Mental Health Day on Friday 9 October by taking part in the Hello Yellow initiative.
To mark the occasion, students and staff are invited to wear yellow accessories with their school uniform, such as ties, socks, shoes, hair accessories, shirts or jackets. We would also be very grateful for any donations to YoungMinds, a charity that provides vital support for young people experiencing mental health difficulties. Donations can be made via WisePay, which will be open from Monday 5 October.
As part of our celebrations, students and staff will be invited to contribute to a Tree of Gratitude, which will be displayed in the school foyer. Students will be asked to create a leaf by either drawing a picture of something that makes them happy or writing down something they are grateful for. This activity will take place during form time over the coming week.
By recognising World Mental Health Day, we hope to encourage students to understand the importance of talking about their feelings and seeking support when needed.
Thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to seeing lots of yellow around the school and raising valuable funds for a very worthwhile cause.
