CARETAKER
37 Hours per week, full time

Scale 6 Point 14, Actual salary £30,515 pa
Monday – Thursday 2.00 pm-10.00 pm, Friday, 10.30am-6.00 pm
We are looking to appoint a Caretaker to join our premises team. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors across the school site, while also carrying out lettings duties as required.
Chelmer Valley is a popular and oversubscribed, mixed, 11-18 comprehensive with 1200 students on roll. It is an exceptionally vibrant, friendly and supportive community built on strong relationships which allow our student to thrive. Our staff are highly valued, we want them to pass on their knowledge and love of their subject so that our students are given the very best experience and opportunities to succeed. Our vision ‘always the best we can be’ is such that we expect to support every student in achieving their full potential and developing a lifelong love of learning.
The successful candidate will be able to follow instructions from the site team in maintaining the school’s grounds and buildings. The ability to carry out DIY including decorating, repairs, plumbing and carpentry is essential.
The school is very popular with the community and as such our premises are regularly hired out of school hours, therefore the successful candidate must be flexible in terms of working hours.
