HEAD OF HUMANITIES

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Curricular Team Leader of Humanities to teach and lead classes across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Humanities at Chelmer includes Geography, History, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics (RPE), and Sociology. A Head of Humanities would have a teaching specialism and likely prior experience as a Head of Department in at least one area.  The Humanities team at Chelmer is tight knit working extremely well together.  As Head of Humanities, alongside leading one subject area, the successful leader, would directly line manage the other Heads of Departments to ensure we learn from each other and progress towards whole school priorities.

You will have a natural flair for delivering creative and vibrant lessons which enthuse and motivate students. You will have excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence and be enthusiastic about leading others. You will have a track record delivering against objectives and long and short term action planning at a curriculum level, including the ability to analyse data.

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS

Required September 2024

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of Maths to teach classes across Key Stage 3 and 4. The ability to also teach A level Maths would be desirable. The successful candidate will be fully supported by a large, welcoming, and friendly Maths Department and joining an excellent teaching team.  The post would be suitable for an ECT, a teacher with experience or, one looking to take on further responsibility.

TEACHER OF RPE AND SOCIOLOGY

REQUIRED SEPTEMBER 2024

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of RPE and Sociology to teach classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the option to also teach A level.  Whether you are an ECT or an experience practitioner, you will be fully supported by a large, welcoming, and friendly Humanities Department. The Religion, Philosophy and Ethics department is incredibly strong, the subject is taught as an option at GCSE with high uptake and exceptional results.

HEAD OF GEOGRAPHY

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Head of Geography to teach and lead classes across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.  Geography sits within the Humanities Area at Chelmer and includes; Geography, History, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics (RPE), and Sociology. Geography is a hugely popular subject at Chelmer Valley High School with many classes studying the subject at GCSE and A level. The Geography Department is progressive and dynamic, who facilitate lessons that enhance the learning experience of all students. The Geography Department also offer an optional educational visit to Iceland, providing students with opportunities to learn from the world around them.

30 hours per week, 8.20 am – 3.10 pm,  Monday – Friday,

 38.2 working weeks per year

Scale 5, Point 9.  Actual Salary £17,109.01 pa
