Lead Teacher of Mathematics
Salary - negotiable (potential Leadership Scale)

Chelmer Valley High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Lead Teacher in Maths to support the continued growth in this subject. The Maths Department is progressive and dynamic, and facilitate lessons that enhance the learning experience of all students. Your primary role will be to lead on curriculum initiatives, drive up outcomes and support teaching and learning across the department and the wider school. As a lead teacher you will also play a part in whole school evaluations and further improve the quality of teaching and learning across the school.
You will have a natural flair for delivering creative and vibrant lessons which enthuse and motivate students. You will have excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence and be enthusiastic about leading others within Maths. You will have a track record of delivering outstanding outcomes, developing and implementing long and short term action planning at a curriculum level and driving standards of teaching and learning.

Teacher of Geography to cover maternity leave
Required December 2025
Chelmer Valley High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join the Department on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This opportunity would also be suitable for a teacher of Humanities. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Geography sits within the Humanities Area at Chelmer and includes; Geography, History, Religion, Philosophy and Ethics (RPE), and Sociology. Geography is a hugely popular subject at Chelmer Valley High School with many classes studying the subject at GCSE and A level. TEACHER OF SCIENCE
Full/Part time considered
Required January 2026
We require an inspirational and innovative teacher of Science to join our successful and committed department where examination results are consistently high. While experience in teaching both Physics and Chemistry is highly advantageous we welcome applications from specialists in other areas of Science. The Science Department consists of eleven teachers, dedicated preparation rooms for each science, an observatory, an allotment and wildlife area. Uptake for Triple Science and A-level is high, as is GCSE Astronomy, which is offered as an additional GCSE.

Support Staff
LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
27.5 hours per week, 38.2 working weeks per year
Scale 3, Point 5, Actual salary £15,863.56 per annum
Required as soon as possible
Fixed term until 31 August 2026
We seek enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our staff team. Experience of working with secondary age children and/or working effectively as part of a team would be an advantage but not essential. GCSE grade C or 4 or above in English and Maths is preferable. Induction training will be provided.
